DescriptionDEVITA is providing electrical engineering and design services for a new 8,700 SF emergency department (ED) behavioral holding unit addition. The project includes six Secure Holding rooms for which no electrical devices are allowed. In addition, six Flexible Secure Treatment rooms will be provided that will be used as both standard ED treatment rooms and secure holding rooms; the headwall will include a roll-down door to protect electrical and other devices located there as needed. The design includes anti-ligature behavioral type lighting fixtures, including an orange/yellow patient observation light in each room that will allow nursing staff to check on patients without disturbing their Circadian rhythms. All devices in spaces such as patient rooms, corridors, Day Room, Multipurpose, Exam, and Intake/Interview will include behavioral type steel wall plates with GFCI tamper- resistant receptacles. The project also includes a renovation of the existing ED discharge area into a new 11-bay Vertical Treatment suite for low-acuity patient treatment. Design of all electrical systems will comply with the 2022 FGI Guidelines and all applicable codes.
