DEVITA is proud to have provided engineering services to the Orangeburg City Hall Adaptive Reuse Project, recently recognized with a 2026 SC Biz News Top Projects Award for its impact on South Carolina’s built environment.
Located in downtown Orangeburg, the adaptive reuse effort transformed a long-vacant former bank building into a modern civic center that now houses the City of Orangeburg’s municipal operations. The renovation revitalized a prominent downtown corner, creating a more welcoming and functional space for residents and visitors.
DEVITA provided the project’s mechanical, plumbing, and electrical engineering design services. The existing two-story structure, originally 5,000 SF per floor, was renovated and expanded by adding a partial third story, resulting in an 18,000 SF civic facility.
The award reflects the collaboration, thoughtful design, and construction efforts that brought the project to life. We are honored to have worked alongside the entire project team on a facility that will serve the Orangeburg community for years to come.
