At DEVITA, longevity is more than a milestone — it’s a reflection of commitment, growth, and the strong relationships that define our culture. This January, we are proud to recognize Allen Davis, Shawna Davis, and Cory Welcher, each of whom celebrated 20 years with DEVITA on January 2.
Precast Coordinator / Checker
Allen joined DEVITA 20 years ago as a designer, producing erection drawings — an experience that laid the foundation for his long and impactful career. Over time, his role evolved from designer to project team leader and mentor, and eventually into his current position as a designer/coordinator and checker.
What Allen values most from his time at DEVITA isn’t a single project, but the people. He takes great pride in having the opportunity to work with talented teammates and in passing along the knowledge he’s gained throughout his career. His willingness to mentor others and support project teams continues to make a lasting impact across the firm.
Electrical Designer & Project Coordinator
Shawna began her DEVITA career as a precast designer, working closely with Derrick Hiott (Vice President), whom she credits as an influential mentor. During the economic downturn of 2008 and 2009, Shawna transitioned to the electrical department of the MEPS Division, where Shannon Epps and Ryan Gray introduced her to power and lighting design, a turning point that shaped her career path.
Over the years, Shawna has grown into an electrical designer and project coordinator, developing confidence, leadership skills, and strong relationships with architectural clients and colleagues. She is especially proud of the confidence she brings to new projects and the collaborative teams she helps build. Leading projects, teaching others, and continuing to learn as the industry evolves are what make her role so rewarding. Shawna is especially grateful for the culture at DEVITA — one she credits Darren Springer (President) and the leadership team for building — and she is thankful to be part of such a supportive work environment.
Precast Structural Designer
Cory’s first day at DEVITA was also his first experience preparing erection drawings. With support from knowledgeable teammates, he quickly learned the role and grew into it. Over the years, Cory expanded his skill set to include project coordination, project management, and multiple 3D design platforms, most recently focusing on Revit as part of a major initiative in the Precast division.
One of Cory’s proudest achievements is completing his first parking deck project in Revit, the Palmetto Citizens parking deck. Now serving as a Structural Designer, Cory continues to embrace new technologies and design challenges, reflecting DEVITA’s commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
Allen, Shawna, and Cory each bring unique experiences and perspectives to DEVITA, but they share a common dedication to teamwork, learning, and excellence. We are grateful for their 20 years of service and the many ways they’ve helped shape our firm.
